PROGRAMME

At Happy Owls Love we will cater for children between 4 months and 5 years. Each class will have a suitably qualified teacher and either one or two assistants, both with first aid training. The classes will be small          [between 15-20 children] to allow for individual attention.

Our curriculum is structured around the four key elements of development to ensure the growth of the whole child. These are social, emotional, physical and intellectual. Our programme is designed to stimulate and inspire our children, but flexible enough to allow for the different developmental stage of the individual child. Areas covered will include language experiences, imaginative artwork, structured and unstructured play, creative movement, science exploration, and an introduction to technology.

The children will learn more about themselves, their families, their communities and other cultures as well as important spiritual and moral values. Special life skills activities will teach the importance of socially acceptable behaviour and lay the foundation for respect, kindness and gratitude.

Parents will be encouraged to participate in their child's learning and development. Individual observation will be ongoing, with progress reports being done in June and December and meetings arranged to discuss the children's progress.

Encourage his interest in language and his understanding of two-way communication by being an avid listener and responding to his sounds. To polish his memory skills, play games like patty-cake and peek-a-boo. At this age, your baby can probably imitate word sounds and inflections. He may be able to follow simple one-step directions, such as "Please bring me the ball" or "Pick up the spoon." Help him learn by separating multistep commands into easy-to-follow single steps, reinforcing them with gestures.
